I have read that it is in the genetics. When our hunter/gatherer relatives walked from one natural environment to another, it was advantageous to forget the fear factor concerns of the previous environment so that you could focus on the fear factor concerns of the next. Once at work I walked into the men's room and forgot why I was there--it was to simply wash my hands. It was a bit disconcerting though.

Makes sense. I think it happens to most of us at any age. Probably more as we age, but it is concerning wondering if a more serious issue is starting. It does make me feel better to know so many other people have the same issues. Thanks for the comment.

These days there is a lot of concern about dementia, because it seems so much more prevalent. As a science guy, I try to keep up with current research on nutrition and health. And have found one of the best sources is Dr. Cate Shanahan, MD, and her book Deep Nutrition. She and others feel that dementia and most other chronic diseases are cause by chronic inflammation.
